30 Children Participated in Training on Organizational Management
Unfortunately, those activities are performed during nighttime instead of daytime, as the matter of fact the school is off.
However, it does not apply to the participants of training on organizational management and journalistic. KKSP Meulaboh with the support from Terre des Hommes organized this 3-day training during the Ramadan on 4 – 7 September 2009. The children are very enthusiastic although they are fasting.
This training was organized in the Hall of Darul Amanah Children Center in Peunaga Pasi Village, Meureubo sub-district of West Aceh and was attended by 30 children participants from the (KPA) Komite Perlindungan Anak/Child Protection Committee from every village in Johan Pahlawan and Meureubo sub-districts. Each village is represented by 3 members of the KPA.
According to Taufik Hidayat, the Project Coordinator of KKSP that this training is aimed to enhance the insights in terms of organizational management and journalistic. In addition, the members of KPA will gain skills in organizational administration and technique in facilitating meeting. “With this training, children will be more advanced and mature in the field of organization and able to develop journalistic talent since they have bulletin and will manage it by themselves.” He adds.
Following to this training, every participant will be able to transfer the knowledge they gained from the training to their peers – members of KPA, therefore the administration system in KPA will be functioned properly. The participants will also be responsible for creating bulletin and wall-magazine in each KPA in their villages.
For the bulletin, a committee has been set up by the. They called the bulletin as “Suara Aneuk/Children’s Voice” and Nasriati was appointed as the chief redactor. Nasriati is a chairperson of KPA for Peunaga Rayeuk Village of Johan Pahlawan sub-district.
The children participated the training well. The training was fun since it used simulation method and discussion to avoid boredom. Some interesting and light games were used by the facilitator from KKSP therefore children were excited in the activity, which started from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. (Abdi Jaya)
