KKSP is a Non Governmental Organization established in 1987. KKSP Foundation concerns about children in difficult situation. KKSP has legal status No. 9591/YAY/1988, jo, 10/YAY/NOT-RAP/1995 and jo No. 10/443/YAY/PROB/2001 from North Sumatra Directorate General of Social Politic and Social Department and Medan High Court to operate its activities as the instruction of Minister of Internal Affairs No 8/88.

The main objectives of KKSP are namely:

1. To provide the basic rights of children - survival, development, protection and participation.
2. To provide protection for children from exploitation, other violation and violence.
3. To empower groups (society, government and private) which are strategically and naturally related to children to develop broader independency, perspective, opinion and community participation to uphold child rights.
4. To develop center for research and information network for child protection at local, national, regional and international.
